Adoption Guidelines

  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Everyone in the applicant’s household must be in favor of adopting a dog.
  • If renting, the applicant’s landlord must give permission for the applicant to have a dog. Some rental offices require that the dog be a certain size or breed.
  • All pets the applicant currently has must be up-to-date on their vaccinations and spayed/neutered.

Agreement

Dogs often need an adjustment period when transitioning to a new home. They may need time to decompress before meeting new dogs and people, have potty accidents, or appear anxious. Are you willing to work with your dog on any issues that may arise? *
Do you agree to provide vet care for the dog, including but not limited to, an annual exam and vaccinations, as well as rabies vaccinations as required by law? *
Dogs in our rescue are usually spayed/neutered when they are four months old. If you adopt a dog that is not yet spayed/neutered, do you agree to spay/neuter the dog by seven months of age? *
Are you aware of the initial and long-term financial obligation of a dog, and are you prepared to take this on? *
